e students. the students know what is expected of them and the consequences if they do not follow the rules. as a teacher my purpose is to give students the tools needed to get them through life. when a student comes into my classroom they come in with a clean slate. and on the other side, the teacher will face the exciting changes and challenges. if she wants to offer many new things to the class, she must renew her own knowledge. in fact we are both learning, learning from each other. just as a coin has two sides, when we are teaching our students, we are at the same time learning something from them. “if there is anything we wish to change in a child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could be better changed in ourselves.”
